The guests are the dominant part of this painting, while the canopy itself, formed of a Talit (prayer shawl) is in the background. Perhaps this is to accentuate the heavy weight lying on the couple’s shoulders, to continue the tradition followed for thousands of years and build a proper chassidic home as their perents and forefathers have done for so many years.
